As part of its efforts to enhance emergency response capabilities, the Panvel Municipal Corporation recently organized a two-day animal and bird rescue training workshop for Fire Department personnel. The training, conducted with the support of Mission Rabies, aimed to equip firefighters with the necessary skills to rescue animals and birds that are often trapped in various urban settings, including accidents or storm drains.

  • Key objectives of the workshop included providing safe rescue methods, observing animal behavior, and preventing zoonotic diseases, such as rabies.

The training was held on April 28 and 29 at the Adya Krantikarak Vasudev Balwant Phadke Natya Mandir, and local officials expressed their confidence that this initiative would lead to more efficient and secure rescues in the future.
