The National Livestock Mission: Empowering Rural Youth through Animal Husbandry

The National Livestock Mission was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to empower rural youth in animal husbandry and agriculture.

The mission provides financial and technical assistance to rural youth to establish animal husbandry units.

Rahul Chauhan, a rural youth, established a modern goat farm with the support of the mission.

Rahul's goat farm houses over 550 goats of high-quality breeds.

Goat farming provides high-quality milk and meat, organic manure production, and improved soil fertility.

The goat dung and urine significantly improve the soil fertility of Rahul's farmland, boosting agricultural productivity.

Rahul is also engaged in native poultry farming and cattle rearing, producing milk, meat, eggs, and organic manure.

The National Livestock Mission has empowered Rahul Chauhan economically and inspired other youth in his village to follow his model.

Dr. Heera Singh Bhawar, Deputy Director of Animal Husbandry, noted that Rahul received technical and financial assistance under the scheme.

The National Livestock Mission has been instrumental in transforming the lives of rural youth like Rahul Chauhan, promoting sustainable agriculture practices and empowering rural youth.
